This screen displays the information on enrolments and registrations of previous terms and the student can enrol/register for the next term here.

What is the difference between enrolment and registration?

The legal relationship of the student with the institute starts with the enrolment, so the newly admitted students enrol in the institute for the first semester.

We talk about registration in the case of already enrolled students, so the students register for the ensuing semesters (with active or passive status).

Enrolment or registration is possible only if there is enrolment and/or registration period of the education underway, and the student has an actual semester.

The institute may set forth conditions to the registration period of the semesters. If these are not complied with, the user is not able to register for the semester. That being the case, a notification is sent when the students attempts to enrol or register.

The enrolment/registration may take place with one of the below methods depending on institutional settings:

The relation between the subject registration and the registration

Depending on institutional settings, if no subject registration takes place before the registration, but the user wants to enrol/register with 'Active' status, the student should confirm to continue with the enrolment/registration process.

In case of a registration for a passive semester (or change from active to passive status), depending on institutional settings, dropping the previously taken subjects might be required. The institutes are entitled to decide whether the student is obliged to drop the subject(s), or only offered this option. Accordingly, Neptun offers the option to drop the subject(s) when registering for a passive semester, or makes this a mandatory element of the process.

Popup window informs about the result of the bulk drop of subjects after the enrolment/registration, itemising the subjects and courses dropped with the successful registration.

Registration for a passive semester is allowed for only two consecutive semesters. In accordance with the study and exam regulations the student is entitled to pause his or her student status on a number of occasions. It varies among institutes whether the first semester can be registered as passive.
