Requesting a custom topic allows the student to register for a topic which was not published for the period. If a valid request template of custom thesis topic registration belongs to the period, a Request a custom topic button appears in the Thesis topics window.
After pressing the button, the popup window informs whether the request is subject to a fee, and also the description can be seen. With the Request fill button the student can start to fill in the request for registering for a custom topic.
In the request the student can provide the title of the thesis, select the lecturer whom he or she would like to write the thesis for, and to describe the topic. After checking the data, the submission can be finalized with the Submit a request button. The following message can be seen about the successful submission:
After clicking the OK button (if providing the topic outline is enabled during the period), the Edit window appears, where the topic outline can be provided, and the topic outline can be uploaded. Further information about this is available here.
In case of a successful registration, the student can view his or her successful registrations on the Degree thesis screen. The status of the registration becomes The application is pending approval.
The actual status of the approval of the thesis is displayed under the title of the topic.
