The Start an application button redirects the user to the Current periods screen on the Studies/External practice screen. Here the valid external field practice periods are displayed.
The Current periods screen displays the name of the period, the interval of the registration period and the number of the subjects that can be registered.
Selecting the Details option, a list appears where the external field practice subjects of the periods are displayed.
On this screen the name of the external field practice subjects, the type of interruption, the number of the minimum weeks are displayed. If registration for the given subject has already taken place, the status of the registration is also shown: Registered, Finalized, Accepted.
If the checkbox of the Registered subjects is selected, only the already registered subjects are displayed. By default this checkbox is not selected.
By clicking the Details option in the row of the subject, the system redirects the user to the subject registration screen where primarily the details of the subject can be viewed.

The subject registration can be launched in the Practice locations block by selecting the external field practice location belonging to the field practice subject. If the location the student wants to register for cannot be found among the field practice locations, the location can be created by clicking the New location button.
The field practice locations screen displays the name, type and city of the field practice locations, and the communication language.

The institute can define the field practice periods of the location, registration is exclusively allowed for the (generally week-based) blocks specified by the institute.
The information on the interruption is displayed above the blocks during the registration.

If the student tries to register for a block for which registration is not possible because of the set time limit, a notification appears in the Block that the registration period is already over.

| The system takes into account the maximum number of weeks and the maximum number of interruptions set by the institute (in case of the maximum number of interruptions, the type of the interruption is also taken into account, so in accordance with the institutional settings, interruptions can occur placewise and timewise both), so if the student exceed the maximum number of weeks during the registration, it will be unsuccessful, and the system sends a notification about the reason for the failure. |
The student can complete an external field practice place - at the discretion of the insitute - during a longer interval or in several shorter intervals. So the student can select the same location from the list of the field practice locations if he or she wants to register for it with different intervals.

The registered locations for the given subject can be viewed in the My submitted applications block.
In the My submitted applications block the columns display the name of the field practice locations, information on the planned and accepted intervals and the status of the registration for the registered field practice locations.
